Barichu Farmers Co-op Soc ltd (BFCS) is located in Mathira East Sub-County in Nyeri County. It is currently composed of four(4) factories or wet mills viz, Karatina F01, Karindundu F02, Gaturiri F03 and Gatomboya F04.

Karindundu Factory is a Kikuyu name from the area the factory is situated in, this factory is a member of the Barichu Cooperative Society.
This coffee has displayed a lot of herbal like characteristics and a very soft mouth feel that made it stand out on the cupping table.

The soil in this area is rich and volcanic, the factory processes 300 tonnes of cherry from the surrounding farms every year. The nearby spring, Kirigau, supplies freah water for fermentation of the pulped cherry.

Flowering happens from February to March and the harvest period is from October to December.

Cherries are hand sorted for unripes and overripes by the farmers before they go in to production. An Agaarde disc pulping machine removes the skin and pulp. The coffee is fermented for 16-24 hours under closed shade. After fermentation the coffees are washed and again graded by density in wash­ing channels and are then soaked under clean water from the Gatomboya stream for 16-18 hours.

Sun dried up to 21 days on African drying beds. Coffees are covered in plas­tic during midday and at night.
